3 Los Angeles K-9 officers wounded; suspect dead in standoff
Three Los Angeles police officers were shot and wounded Wednesday evening in a confrontation with a wanted parolee who was found dead hours later after a standoff, police said. The three officers, all senior officers and members of an Los Angeles Police Department's K-9 dog-handling unit, were hospitalized in stable condition after the shooting that occurred in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood near downtown. The three were alert and Mayor Karen Bass said she had a conversation with two of them at the hospital and they asked her about colleagues who were looking for the suspect.

Braxton Johnson was taken into custody Tuesday after he allegedly made violent threats involving weapons to security staff at the apartment building and people outside, the agency said the following day. A search of Johnson's apartment turned up two assault rifles and high-capacity ammunition magazines, all of which are illegal in California, as well as three handguns, a sniper rifle, a shotgun and more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition.

A representative from her team confirmed to People magazine that on Wednesday night Gaga's dog walker was shot and two of her French bulldogs were taken during a robbery. The dog walker was transported to a local hospital in critical condition but is expected to make a full recovery. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the robbery occurred at 9:40 p.m. on Sierra Bonita Avenue in Hollywood.
